Plans and prices

Prices as published on GitHub (Microsoft)'s pricing page, checked 27 October 2026. They change often; check the live page before you rely on them.

PlanPriceBillingWhat you get
Pro$10per user per monthUnlimited completions; $15 monthly AI credits ($10 base + $5 flex); cloud agent, code review, Claude Code and Codex agents
Pro+$39per user per monthPremium models incl. Opus; $70 monthly AI credits ($39 base + $31 flex)
Max$100per user per month$200 monthly AI credits ($100 base + $100 flex); priority access
Business$19per user per month$19 pooled AI credits per user, org-wide budgets
Enterprise$39per user per month$39 pooled AI credits per user

Usage component. Agent mode, code review, cloud agent, CLI and chat consume AI Credits at each model's API token rates; code completions and Next Edit Suggestions don't consume credits. Code review also uses GitHub Actions minutes.

How credits/tokens work. Credits are dollar-denominated; 'flex allotment' is a variable bonus that 'may change over time'. Paid plans can buy more credits; businesses can cap or allow overage with budgets at enterprise, cost-centre and user level.

What changed in 2025–2026

Jun 2025: premium request limits enforced (Pro 300, Pro+ 1,500, Business 300/user, Enterprise 1,000/user; $0.04 per extra; multipliers up to 50x), which users called 'far too low'. 27 Apr 2026: announced move to usage-based AI Credits from 1 Jun 2026, replacing premium request units; promo credits for Business/Enterprise Jun-Aug. Developers: 'You will get less, but pay the same price'. 2026: Max tier at $100 added.

What you can steal

  1. Pricing

GitHub kept headline prices fixed and changed what they include, which protected list price but cost trust. If you move to usage-based billing, give customers a cost dashboard and a hard cap on day one.
