Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information subscriptionplaybook.com collects, why, who it's shared with and how to access, correct or delete it. Last updated 27 October 2026.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by Subscription Playbook (ACN 602 766 478) ("we", "us", "our"). We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). If you're in the European Union or the United Kingdom, we also respect your rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR (see section 12).
The site is sponsored by BPAG Accountants Pty Ltd ("BPAG"). Robert Coorey, the author, is a Director of BPAG.
2. What we collect
We only collect what we need for the thing you've asked for. Depending on what you use, that can include:
- Contact details: your name, email address and phone number.
- Business details: business name, ABN, role, state, revenue band, website, and what you tell us about your business.
- Postal address: only if you claim a free hardcover, so we can post it to you.
- Your request: messages, whether you ask for a free Subscription Profit Review, and the results you choose to save from our tools.
- Text you type into AI tools: business descriptions, questions, website addresses and customer feedback you paste in.
- Usage information: pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location from your IP address, and how you arrived at the site.
We don't ask for sensitive information (such as health, religious or political information), and we don't collect payment card details, dates of birth or identity documents. Please don't include sensitive information in forms or AI tools.
3. How we collect it
- Directly from you, when you fill in a form (free books, hardcover claim, Profit Review request, saved tool results, newsletter, contact) or type into a tool.
- Automatically, through server logs, cookies and similar technologies (see section 7).
- From public sources: when you enter an ABN, we check it against the Australian Business Register to confirm the business name and status. When you ask an AI tool to read your website, we fetch that public page.
You can browse the site and use most calculators without giving us any personal information. You can use a pseudonym in most forms; we just won't be able to post a book or arrange a call without real details.
Some tools keep your inputs in your own browser (local storage) so they're still there when you come back. That data stays on your device; you can clear it with your browser settings or the tool's "Start again" button. Files uploaded to the Stripe Export Analyser are processed in your browser and never sent to us.
4. Why we collect it
- to send the books, downloads and results you ask for, and post free hardcovers;
- to generate answers in our AI tools;
- to pass your details to BPAG so it can contact you about your enquiry and, if you ask for one, arrange a free Subscription Profit Review;
- to reply to messages and requests;
- to send occasional updates about the book and site, if you've agreed to receive them;
- to understand how the site is used and improve it;
- to keep the site secure, prevent spam and abuse, and enforce fair-use limits on AI tools;
- to meet our legal obligations.
We don't sell or rent personal information.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only as needed for the purposes above:
- BPAG Accountants Pty Ltd (Australia), our sponsor, receives form submissions so it can follow up your enquiry, fulfil hardcover claims and arrange Profit Reviews you request. BPAG handles your information under its own privacy policy.
- Netlify (United States) hosts the site, processes form submissions and stores limited data such as the hardcover counter.
- OpenRouter (United States) routes text you enter into AI tools to AI model providers such as Anthropic, OpenAI or Google (mainly the United States), which generate your answer. We don't store your AI tool inputs or outputs on our servers.
- Resend (United States, with sending infrastructure in Japan) sends the emails you ask for, such as your playbook or download links.
- Google Analytics (United States) measures site usage (see section 7).
- Australian Business Register (Australian Government), when you enter an ABN.
- Our professional advisers, and courts, regulators or law enforcement where the law requires it.
- A buyer or successor, if the site or business is sold, on the condition that they handle your information in line with this policy.
6. Overseas disclosure
Some of the providers above store or process information outside Australia, mainly in the United States, and for email delivery, Japan. AI model providers reached through OpenRouter may process requests in the United States and other countries where they operate. We choose established providers and take reasonable steps to ensure they protect personal information in a way consistent with the APPs.
7. Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful and to count leads from our forms. It uses cookies and similar identifiers, and it loads only after the page has finished loading. We don't use advertising or remarketing cookies, and we don't use Facebook or other social media tracking pixels.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The site works without them.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser and pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.
8. AI tools and automated decisions
Our AI tools (such as the Playbook Generator and Ask the Book) use AI models to produce general information from what you type in. They don't make decisions about you. We don't use automated decision-making to make, or substantially help make, decisions that significantly affect your rights or interests, such as whether you can get a product, service or price.
AI outputs can be wrong and are general information only, not financial, legal or tax advice.
9. Marketing emails
We send marketing emails only in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also email support@subscriptionplaybook.com at any time. If you ask BPAG for a Profit Review, BPAG will contact you about that request.
10. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. The site uses HTTPS, access to form data is limited to the people who need it, and our providers are reputable services with their own security programs. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, then delete or de-identify it. As a guide: form submissions are kept for up to two years after your last contact with us, unless you become a client of BPAG, in which case BPAG's record-keeping obligations apply.
If we have a data breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
11. Accessing, correcting or deleting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing support@subscriptionplaybook.com. We'll respond within 30 days. There's no charge to make a request or to correct your information. If we can't give you access or make a correction, we'll explain why in writing, and you can ask us to attach a statement to your information.
12. If you're in the EU or UK
If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, we rely on your consent (for marketing and for passing your details to BPAG when you request it), on taking steps you've asked for (such as sending a book), and on our legitimate interests (such as site security and analytics). You have the right to be informed, to access, correct or erase your data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
13. Children
This site is for business owners and professionals. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has given us their information, contact us and we'll delete it.
14. Questions and complaints
Email support@subscriptionplaybook.com with any question or complaint about privacy. We'll acknowledge it within 5 business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
15. Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our practices or the law change, and show the date of the latest version at the top.
